		Water flowing over a steep slope results in a small waterfall with a plunge pool at its base. Gravel and sand swirling around at the base of the waterfall cause erosion. The plunge pool gets deeper and larger as erosion cuts away at rocks. Overhanging rocks eventually break off, extending the length and depth of the chasm.
